Champions League Top Scorer Race: Can Demirović or Ferran Torres Catch Tresoldi Tonight?

The Champions League top scorer race could change hands tonight. Club Brugge’s Nicolò Tresoldi leads on four goals, but Stuttgart’s Ermedin Demirović and Paris Saint-Germain’s Ferran Torres are both on three, and both play at 21:00 CET.
Tresoldi went top with a hat-trick in Brugge’s 4-3 win over Inter at San Siro on Tuesday, adding to the penalty he scored against Aston Villa on Matchday 1. Brugge have already played this round, so all he can do is watch.

Manchester City v Paris Saint-Germain is the game of the round.
City won 2-0 in Porto on Matchday 1 and have won all six of their Premier League games, including a 3-0 win at Anfield on Sunday. PSG, the reigning European champions, opened with a 6-1 thrashing of Slovan Bratislava.

Roma v Real Madrid pits a stubborn defence against one of Europe’s best attacks.
Roma have conceded just three goals in six Serie A games but were held 0-0 by Como at the weekend. Real beat Inter 2-1 on Matchday 1 and edged Villarreal 1-0 on Saturday.
Prediction: Roma 1-1 Real Madrid.
Aston Villa v Fenerbahçe is the other Premier League interest of the night.
Villa won a five-goal thriller in Bruges on Matchday 1, although they were held 2-2 by Brentford at the weekend. Fenerbahçe drew 1-1 with Roma in Istanbul.

Stuttgart arrive in good shape after a 3-1 win over Viking in Europe and a 2-0 victory at Paderborn in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Who will win? Stuttgart should have too much for the Slovak champions. Expect them to control the ball and create plenty of chances for their number nine.

Manchester City v PSG prediction

Torres has the harder job. City have been close to flawless this season, and the Etihad is no place to go looking for goals.
PSG still carry a serious threat. Torres scored a hat-trick on his Champions League debut for the club, and Dembélé has two goals in the competition already.
Who will win? City’s form makes them slight favourites, but both sides have the quality to score. A game with goals at both ends looks more likely than a shut-out.
Prediction: Manchester City 2-1 PSG.

Demirović is the most likely man to catch Tresoldi tonight. He has an easier opponent and a proven habit of scoring in bunches.
Torres needs to find the net against a City defence in top form, which is a taller order.
